Secret messages in a real book.

Updated: Apr 17, 2024

Did you know that the book Argentine Road Race, from The Crossword Puzzle Mystery, is a real book?

When I was a kid, it was a book I actually found on the bookshelves at home. It didn't look very interesting to me at the time and it didn't seem like anyone had read it. My parents had purchased some books and items from the local school library when the school shut down and this book was one of them. It still had its library card in it and I don't think anyone had signed it which meant no one had checked it out of the library.

While pretending to be a detective, I actually did use a pin and poke holes above the letters on some of the pages to hide a secret message in the book. I haven't been able to find the book when I've gone back to the farm to visit, so I don't recall what secret message I hid in its pages all those years ago.
