Early decisions are tough!

Updated: Jul 15

Trying to choose the cover design and lettering styles has been challenging.

After you work on something and look at it for so long, retaining a fresh eye and sense of what it really looks like is difficult. Yet it's important because it's what will be used going forward. The early decisions carry a lot of future weight.

For several days I've been working on coming up with a logo that featured a compass rose as well as items that the Whisper Bay mystery club would use or see in their mystery solving adventures (trees, sticks, feathers, canoe oar).

Once I had those ideas on paper, I scanned them into my computer, turned them into clip art, and then tried them out on different book cover designs. I asked my family members what options they liked, and did end up using their recommendation for the book covers for this series.
