Drawing the characters.

Updated: Apr 17, 2024

ree

Drawing the characters came before I decided what their personalities would be like. Once I'd drawn their faces, it was as if their personalities came through. I will later share my binder of characters and story notes, which is where I have written down the details of how each character behaves, responds, or what interests they have. But this is the original sketch sheet of their faces.

You can see that Jimmy looked a bit different (middle row, left side) and I decided that wasn't what I wanted. The Jimmy you see on the bottom row in the middle is the one I went with. For my character and story planning binder, I added color to these sketches.
