NEW ART: I've uploaded some "new" art (older pieces that I've not had online before). You can see them in the July archives.

Purse: Striped Ties and Corduroy.

This fun-colored purse -- light blue! lime green! chocolate brown! -- is made from a favorite pair of corduroy pants that, happily, became too big for me. I loved the material though, a delicate blue with washed streaks of warm cream fading through. I couldn't let the material go to waste, so I decided to resurrect part of it for a purse.

Front: The front of the purse shows off the vintage necktie I've used for both the closure strap (velcro closure) and the purse strap. There is also the signature LP (Lone Prairie) leather tag. [view front of purse].

Back: The back of the purse [view back of purse] uses the front five-pocket layout from the pants. I've also created a larger pocket behind the entire section using a lime-green old cloth napkin. There is also an area for a pen to be attached where the pocket has been left slightly open.

Inside: The inside of the purse is lined with a pale blue shimmery material with a woven wave pattern. A pocket section, divided into two convenient pockets, lines the back of the inside of the purse, edged with contrasting chocolate brown antique seam facing and lime-green material. [view inside]

Detailing: The purse has a number of hand-stitched detailing, from the embroidered blanket-stitched edging on the purse strap ends, to the entire lining being hand-sewn into place. [view detail]

This purse is completely unique, made without a pattern, never to be exactly recreated in either fabric or stitching. It is fully hand-made. By me.

Materials: Corduroy, cotton, satin-like material, linen, leather, necktie.
Size: roughly 10.5" high, 11" wide, 3.5" deep; Shoulder strap 10.5" from shoulder to purse
Other: Spot wash. Do not machine wash.
Price: $45
