Payment
You can use your credit card to make purchases on this site. Either through PayPal or Google checkout, you'll find credit cards are a fast, convenient way to pay for items on this site. Google Checkout is integrated into the shopping cart, and you'll see the Google Checkout logo available when it comes time to pay.
As always, a personal check or money order are still accepted, as are
PayPal account-direct payments. Orders paid for by check of money order
are not shipped until they have arrived.
Placing an Order
All items for sale on this site can be purchased using a secure online shopping cart system. The shopping cart
allows you to use both the PayPal system and Google Checkout for purchases
made by credit card. You will be directed accordingly during your checkout as to what you need to do if you do not currently have
a PayPal account. If you would like to make a payment by check, you will still
use the shopping cart system. Simply make that selection when payment method is offered during checkout.
The shopping cart is secure, run on a secure server.
Please fill out as much information as requested so that your order may be processed in a timely manner.
Placing an Order for Photographic or Art Prints
I host and process my photographic and art prints on another site. You can purchase those items by visiting
my gallery at ImageKind, where
you can find a great selection of papers and finishing options before placing
your order. Orders placed through ImageKind are separate from the shopping
cart here on Lone Prairie. Any orders you have here at Lone Prairie will be
processed separately, and should be completed before going to ImageKind to place
a print order.
If you would like to order prints of photos or art that you see on this site,
but want different papers or options contact me directly.
I do work with a professional lab and can process large, unique, or bulk orders
to some degree. Please read here

Gift Certificates and Cards
You can use your Lone Prairie Gift Certificates and Cards for any purchase you make
(according to the details given on the gift card) on the LonePrairie.net website.
Lone Prairie gift cards and certificates will not work when shopping on the
off-site merchants, such as ImageKind, Lulu.com, or Zazzle. Gift certificates
are generally the same as gift cards, except in printed dimension or promotional
appeal.
How it works: You buy a gift certificate or gift card. I email you your gift certificate number. Once you
have that number, you can do three things:
- Write it down on your own card or letter and send it to the recipient.
- Email the gift certificate number to the recipient. (Or, if you'd like, I can do that for you to keep it a surprise.)
- Download a printable Gift Certificate here at Lone Prairie, fill it out, and mail it to the recipient. There are different certificate styles to choose from, with a place to include the monetary amount, who it's for, and the gift certificate code I'll send you upon purchase.
- It won't expire until, of course, it's used.
- It's good for any item(s) available for purchase here on Lone Prairie. If it's for sale, it'll work with the certificate (unless otherwise noted when you buy it).
- It is redeemed online here at LonePrairie.net, during checkout with the automated shopping cart.
- If you lose the number, you can email me and have me re-send it.
- As long as you have the number, you can download any printable gift certificate you find on this site and fill it in.

Your email address is requested during the checkout procedure. It will NEVER be added to a mailing list, sold to any outside parties, or used to spam you. I abhor spam as much as you do. Your email is merely needed so that if there are any problems with the order, I have a way to reach you.

All orders are shipped via the USPS unless otherwise specified. All orders are shipped Priority Mail, with Delivery
Confirmation when available.
International orders will be shipped using methods that are comparable, also via USPS. All shipping and handling costs are tabulated
during checkout.
I am not responsible for damage, theft, or loss during transit. If you
would like to include postal shipping insurance with your order, you may do so by adding it to
your shopping cart, using the links in the column to the right. This insurance
will be standard USPS insurance, and should damage occur to your order, you will
need to notify me so that I may report it to the Post Office. I will replace the
order at no cost to you, although since we're dealing with one-of-a-kind items,
I may have to replace your order with similar items of equal or greater value.
You may also request a credit if you do not with to receive replacements at that
time.
I will ship items only after I have received payment. Payment by check is allowed, though your item will not shipped until after I
have received it.
You can request to have an email sent to you once your items have shipped. It will contain the delivery confirmation number. Though this number does
not help you track your package, it is what I use as proof that I did, indeed, ship your package. It is also what I use as proof of
delivery. If the USPS system shows the package as confirmed delivered, you will not be allowed a refund claiming that you never
received the package.
You may visit the USPS website to enter your confirmation number, and to find out more about Priority Mail and Delivery Confirmation
if you have questions.
Special Shipping Requests
If you would like your items shipped in a different manner, be it through UPS or FedEx,
please
contact me prior to placing your order so that we can work out the details and the additional shipping and handling charges you
might incur.

Returns, Refunds and Exchanges
Because most items on my site are handmade, often made-to-order, I do not allow returns except in specific situations. These situations may include:
- I mistakenly sent you the wrong item.
- The item is seriously flawed or badly made.
If one of the above to occurs, you may return the item at my expense. I will
then send out a replacement item, either the correct item or one of equal
or greater value. I do not issue refunds, and will be happy to issue a credit if
you do not want any items at that time. The flawed item must be returned to me,
however, before I send a replacement or issue a credit.
If you change your mind on an order, contact me immediately. If I haven't shipped, I will reimburse your money (minus
any credit card, PayPal or processing fees). If I have shipped, you can certainly exchange it by shipping it back for replacement.
This
shipping will be at your own expense.
If you feel that you have a valid reason for a return and/or refund, contact
me and we'll work on the situation together. I'm not an ogre.

One of a Kind Items
Most items on this site are one-of-a-kind items, which means that only one is available for sale. I do try to stay on top of
my orders so that once an item is sold, I remove the "Buy Now" link as soon as I
can so that no one else attempts to buy the same item. In certain
cases I am not able to do this as fast as necessary (on vacation, away from my computer, etc.). Should two people "buy" the same item,
I will contact the second person and offer a full refund or the opportunity to purchase a similar item of equal value.
Handmade items also have the tendency to exhibit minor "imperfections" which I am sure you are aware of. These are not to be
considered defects and are not grounds for return. You may trust me when I say I am not churning out shoddy products. Each item
is made by hand, however, and so the human element is a factor.

In the past, customers have made special requests of me. I am open to special requests, depending on the request and if my
schedule allows it. Please see the "Special Requests" box in the right
column for ideas. If you are interested in these, or others, contact me directly
and we can work out the details and any additional costs. I do not drop ship.

Because This Isn't WalMart
Not to state the obvious, but I am one person making each item one at a time. I try to fill orders as quickly as I can, but
in certain times (Christmas, etc.) I am not able to turn orders out as fast as a large retail chain. Please place your time-constrained
orders two weeks ahead of time if possible. I am always willing to work with each person to the best of my ability, so you
are welcome to email me directly to see if what you'd like to have done is possible.
Remember, you're not dealing with a warehouse and many employees and some nameless company: you're dealing with me. One person,
making things for you. Your emails come to me directly, get answered by me personally. I make your item, pack it, take it to the
post office, and send it on its way. I'll work with you as best I can, within reason.

On Being a Customer
I know how it is to be a customer, because most of the time I am one. I know the frustration of bad service, raw deals, and
just about anything else that can go wrong. Most of the customers I have worked with in the past five years have been wonderful
people that I get to know as actual people and not just order numbers. I appreciate my customers a great deal. However, there have
been just a handful of customers who have made my life a living wreck, piling complaints and demands and make suspicious accusations
of non-delivery or bad product that I have had to write this rather long list of order, return and refund rules and regulations. I
really will listen to each customer and work to make them happy, but if I start to get the sense of a problem customer who is trying
to get their cake and eat it to, I will firmly stand by my policies as outlined on this page. Very firmly. That is why, with each order,
I assume you've read and agreed to these policies. By placing an order
through this web site (Lone Prairie Art Works), you are agreeing to these
policies.
