Free downloads for the letter-writer.

written by Julie R. Neidlinger      0 comments      link this post

I blogged about 16 Sparrow's products earlier, but only briefly mentioned the uber-cool Letter Writer's Alliance. The LWA website is a treasure trove for anyone in love with letters and mail and writing and such.

Plus, they have some of the best free downloads I've come across yet.

Keeping track of all the free downloads.

written by Julie R. Neidlinger      1 comments      link this post

I have quite a few free documents available, but sometimes they are spread around the site and on blogs that not all of my readers frequent. It can be difficult to keep track of them all, and for a free-document hoarder (like myself), you probably want an easy way to find them. To make it easier for you to access these free downloads, I've uploaded them to Scribd. You can read more about all of that here.

To access the documents, visit my Scribd account. Or, to be sure you know whenever something new is added, you can subscribe to the feed or even subscribe to the feed via email.

Merry Christmas: A free bookplate for you.

written by Julie R. Neidlinger      2 comments      link this post

As a way of saying "thank you" to my blog readers, I spent the last few days working on a bookplate. Feel free to download and print out the bookplate and use it as a bookplate in your favorite books.

Get the larger bookplate image by clicking here. Right click on the image, save to your computer, and import the JPEG image into your favorite graphics program. Print out the bookplate on paper, sticker paper, or name labels. I often use Avery brand name labels.

Links: Read earlier posts for links to free bookplates and more information on what to do with them. The Lone Prairie Sometimer had an issue that featured bookplates and included a free design. There are also a few bookplate designs available for purchase. And of course, this blog's "bookplates" category is the place to find all the free bookplates.

------------------------------------------------

Fine Print: Do not remove or alter the (C) Julie R. Neidlinger from the design. This book is for private, personal use only; it is not intended for commercial use and may not be sold or used in any way in which the user may profit financially. Please read the copyright page for more information.

Free wallpaper: The frustration of work.

written by Julie R. Neidlinger      0 comments      link this post

Using clips from the Lone Prairie cartoon characters, I've made some basic wallpaper for (1280 X 1024) for your computer desktop. Simply click on the links below, right click the image, save to your computer, and set as your wallpaper.

  1. "How come he gets to be in color?"
  2. "I accept your resignation."
  3. Living a lie: The customer is always right.

They're either perfect for work, or they'll get you fired. (Which is maybe why they're perfect for work.)

The Lone Prairie Sometimer: An irregular publication at no charge.

written by Julie R. Neidlinger      0 comments      link this post

The Lone Prairie Sometimer is a "newspaper" filled with art and writing ideas. How often does a new issue come out? You can expect it to come out...sometime. Hence the name. All issues are listed here, free to download, with no particular rhyme or reason for when each is published. They are in PDF format and might take a little while to download.

The Lone Prairie Sometimer is great for people who are always looking for new ideas and who want to be constantly challenged with their creativity. The Lone Prairie Sometimer contains "clip cards" which are filled with prompts and ideas, ready to be cut out and saved. Collect them all! Use the ideas and see where they take you! Get your art and writing skills in high gear with the Lone Prairie Sometimer.

Free bookplates.

written by Julie R. Neidlinger      2 comments      link this post

Bookplates are a great way to not only unify your personal library or remind people to return books they may have borrowed, but are a way of showing just how serious a bibliophile you are.

These bookplates are for you to download and print out for personal use only. They are not to be used or sold commercially. They are in high-quality PDF files. Simply click on the links below.

To use: Each bookplate has an image and a place to write your name. These may be printed out on paper and glued into a book; use at least 24 lb. paper weight for this purpose. The layout of the page is meant to work with Avery adhesive name badge paper (#15395) with eight 2 1/3" x 3 3/8 stickers to a sheet, but you should print a test sheet to see if it lines up correctly on your printer first.
