All the exclamation points you can muster!!! And more!!!
written by Julie R. Neidlinger 12 comments link this postIt's Saturday evening.
This means the SciFi Saturday movie. Tonight's cheese fest: Mega Snake! Starring Michael Shanks of Stargate SG-1 fame! Big snake! Something gone awry! Eats people!1
!!!!!
This also means that unfortunately for Will, I have already peppered him with the usual email: "Mega snake, Will, mega snake!"
Past emails have included: "Vampires, Will, vampires!" and the like.
Will's emails either during or post run a little like this: Concerning George "whats-his-name?" death from having his arm pulled off, where was all the squirting blood? And that was some decapitation by a bulldozer, huh?
And people say good discussion about the fine arts is gone!
!!!!!
Anyone else out there in the SciFi Saturday night movie habit?

Okay, I just saw the intro to Megasnake. There are rules to how you treat these snakes, huh. Sorta like the rules one had to obey in the movie Gremlins or else all hell would break out. Well, we all know how well people are at not breaking the rules.

No! Tell me this isn't about snake-handling pentecostals! They're probably from Kentucky too. Egads!!!

Yes, it is.......Oops.....you would think once bitten, twice shy. Right?
Wow, it's the boy's fault his daddy died. Not his father's lack of faith.

Holiness Fire Church of Christ. My two favorite church names I have seen in person were: The First Baptist Christian Church of God and The Only Church of God, Number 2.

Two rules broken already before the first commercial break and one less cat in the world. Not bad so far.

Now listen here, Will, I count the first death being a cat VERY MUCH against the jerks who made this film. My only consolation is that the dog also gets eaten.
Not too mention the whole holiness Pentecostal thing.
And the fact that NO ONE PUTS A PET DOOR ON A CHICKEN HOUSE.
But actually, not bad as far as acting and effects (for a SciFi film) so far.
That poor little kitty.

On one thing Jim and I agree: Cats are demon spawn. And I even have one of those creatures!
But on another front, you're right, I don't believe I ever saw a pet door on my grandparents' chicken coop. What a dumb idea. The writers abviously never lived on or visited a farm. And I can tell you another thing as well. That snake wouldn't have stood a chance against the rooster who protected the coop, He was one mean bird until he attacked us grandkids one too many times. Ma Nelly then caught him, rung his neck, and he made some tasty chicken and dumplings (or rooster and dumplings).
My last comment for the night: It was great to see the megasnake attack the people while they were on the amusement park rides. Now, as far as I can tell, that was original! And cool!
And now I must finish the sermon. It is still not writing itself, regardless of how hard I pray for this to happen.

I take it back. Now these are my last comments:
1) I can swallow Les going into the belly of the beast, but Erin still being alive? No, I don't think so. My suspension of belief can only go so far.
2) That heart was mighty small for such a big snake!
I guess we get another SciFi original premiere tomorrow evening as well with the web of the spider. Happy, happy, joy, joy!

All this snake stuff...your sermon should be about the serpent in the garden.
Unteca!
(Or however you spell it.)

Julie! Remember me? I'm a sci-fi afficiondo as well. In fact - may end up helping score a very well-known series on Sci-Fi =- keep your fingers crossed for me. Keep in touch! Nice blog and website - stop by mine sometime...

Troy, of course I remember you. You did the music for "The Call of Cthulhu." A possible SciFi scoring... wow. That is excellent news! Please let me know if it works out. Seriously -- I want to very much know.
