7 things meme, slightly stripped of rules.

I've been "tagged" by Lois E. Lane to participate in the "7 Things" meme, and I will. Except I'm kind of a meme-stopper in that I don't tag people... read on.

The rules: People who are tagged start by thinking about 7 random facts/habits about themselves. Each player then must write about those seven things on their blog, as well as include these rules. Players then need to choose 7 people to tag and list their names. Don’t forget to leave each person a comment telling them they’ve been tagged.

1. If I see a list of rules, even if I don't have a problem with any of them, I always try to find a way to not follow one or two. This is done diplomatically and politely and agreeably to some extent, though I am willing to walk away completely if that doesn't work. Why do I do this? I don't know. And this would be why I don't follow through on meme rules. "You're not the boss of me!" One of my favorite movie lines is from the first Pirates of the Caribbean where it was pointed out that the rules were more like guidelines, really.

2. I chew on my tongue (visible out the corner of my mouth) when I'm thinking, drawing, or writing with a pen. My Grandpa did as well. Kids used to tease me a lot about this when I was in elementary school. During recess, I would break off the sharpened tips of their pencils to get back at them. Ha.

3. I fast-forward through mushy romance parts in any movie to "get to the good stuff" which would be anything but the mushy romance parts in any movie.

4. I yell at the TV a lot. Mostly when it's on. In fact, I spend an inordinate amount of time talking to inanimate objects.

5. I never touch a doorknob or toilet handle in any public place with my bare hand. It's always my foot or with a long sleeve. Always.

6. I am generally a Chapstick girl because all that fancy lip crap wears off and is just generally loathsome. However, I discovered and now love Bigelow lip gloss. I love, love it. I go through tubes of it. It's like candy! My favorite is this one. Yum.

7. I don't like gold jewelry. Not that I have much, but I really just prefer the look of silver-tone stuff. I've been told this is an abomination, to not like gold. It's just too...gold. Silver is so clean looking!
