Blogathon 2006: Interesting facts.

A few interesting facts for your curious minds:
1. Bob's been to Nicaragua. You can see him there, and how big he is, in this photo.
2. The valley background image is a painting done by my grandmother.
3. I had to lock my cat up all day because he insisted upon eating my props and trying to carry the dolls off like mice to chew on in private. It was distracting to say the least.
4. During a moment of writer's block, my mother tried to help out by suggesting that I have my character attend a Billy Graham crusade. No kidding. My writer's block didn't necessarily disappear, but I did get a good laugh and decided that I would use that same helpful idea any time I, or my writer friends, are stuck: just send a character to a Billy Graham crusade.
5. The pistol that kept appearing, pointed at the back of Bob's head, was the gun out the board game "Clue." It was obviously way out of proportion and since the dolls do not have hands to speak of, I had to hold the little gun off screen with one hand and juggle the camera with the other.
6. One of my character's names, Elmer Kelton, wasn't as random as I had thought. Check the comments in Chapter 23.
7. I did not use spell check because, as odd as it might seem, spelling seems irrelevant at 3 a.m. I also did not fact check my story which may lead to serious western buffs pointing out weaponry, dates, events, furnishings and other points of interest that conflict. Since I am basing my story on plastic dolls, I will ignore such buffs because they frighten me in this particular setting.
Note: If you have other questions on technique, production, how-in-the-world-did-she-do-that or the like, leave a comment below. Happy to share.
