Kicking Orange Julius where it hurts.
written by Julie R. Neidlinger 3 comments link this postI just made the perfect fruit smoothie.
We're always trying to perfect them here at our house. I confess that mom's sometimes take a turn for the worst in her efforts to "use up stuff" meaning...well, you don't want to know. Let's just say the adjective "smoothie" isn't always apt. Bless her.
Anyway, here's how to make the best-tasting fruit smoothie you ever had.
Julie's Recipe for Fruit Smoothie Yumminess
- 1 blender
- electricity to run the blender
- 2 ice cubes
- pour in some skim milk, oh, about yay much
- a couple of handfuls of strawberries
- a handful or two of blueberries or whatever
- two to three small scoops of low fat frozen vanilla yogurt
- a scoop of Slim Fast french vanilla soy protein powder because it happened to be sitting there on the counter and what the heck
- blend!
- enjoy!

You had me right up to the French vanilla soy protein powder. Now I'm wondering, why does she even have that in her kitchen? Not that you owe me an explanation. But, still...

I have no idea why we have that in our kitchen and what's worse is, it's old. Quite old.
But the good news is, despite all that, Orange Julius is still bent over in agony.

Say...do you remember when you could get an Orange Julius with a raw egg added?
Haven't seen an OJ store in years, but I suspect they took that option off the menu a long time ago.
