These ten signs will help you realize how great your day will be. Trust me.
  1. You wake up to find that your cat got in your knitting. Seriously into it.
  2. You step on a large staple on the floor of your bedroom, not sure how it got there. Your first and immediate reaction was not Biblical.
  3. You open the cupboard door, yawning, and a large bag of M&M's tips out and spills all over the counter and floor, having been conveniently propped up inside by one of the folks for reasons beyond your comprehension.
  4. You help your dad get a little lunch together for the day's work in the field, hearing him talk about how no one was going to be home so he has to take a lunch. This makes you feel guilty because...
  5. You're not going to be home, either, having errands to run.
  6. You check your email and find the usually monetary requests from Nigeria and various other spam, and none from friends.
  7. It's raining out so you know you can't go run off that cookie you had for breakfast, which you legitimized as a breakfast food at the time because it had eggs in it.
I'm sure the other three will come to me. All in all, a great day.

The president is going to comment on North Dakota's growing illegal immigration problem? Darn those Canadians....

"It's raining out so you can't go for a run." ???

Sounds like somebody doesn't want to go for a run. ;-)

OK, I'll cut you some slack. It occurs to me that you may not do much of your running on paved roads and I'll concede that running in the mud is no fun at best and dangerous at worst. I withdraw my cynicism.

And, we'd be more than happy if you'd send that rain to us. Rain on Mondays is a sign around here that the week's going to be a good one!

It's true, I don't really like running. It's true, I'm surrounded by gravel roads which turn to mud. And it's true that the sun came out and I just finished my run.

What a complex thing a day turns out to be. But I'll take all the slack-cutting anyone offers. I like excuses as well as the next guy.

Funny post. :) You know how I know my day is not starting out well? When its only 6:00 in the morning and I hear two of my children fighting over cereal in the kitchen, VERY loudly. Let me assure you, that's not a good way to wake up and start the day. :)
