Broken window.

March 18, 2010

Someone tried to break into the shop last night, or at least thought it’d be fun to vandalize things. Not cool.
UPDATE: Looks like some loser couldn’t hold his green St. Patrick’s Day beer very well. Still don’t know who did it, but it had the appearance of someone falling or being pushed into the glass.

My birthday cake.

January 9, 2010

A larger sized petit four cake: an almond-y buttery delectable delight with raspberry in between, covered in a thin layer of dark chocolate.
Yes, I made my own birthday cake.
‘Twas delicious.
We tried out the Blarney Stone (the shepherd’s pie was delicious), then went back and ate some cake and watched a couple of movies and now [...]

Coffee in Jamestown.

October 27, 2009

Babb’s Coffee House in Jamestown, North Dakota, which I visited a few weeks ago with a fabulous friend and a busy little boy.

I was amazed to see such a large (in [...]

Cat photography.

August 19, 2009

The latest Catster.com email newsletter — (I’ll just pause and let you get it out of your system before I go on) — contained a link to an article detailing the Top Five Tips for Photographing Your Cat. Though I rolled my eyes a bit, somewhat like when I see the magazine Cat Fancy and [...]

Conclude on your own.

August 6, 2009

I took this photo as I walked back to my apartment from downtown Bismarck.
Here we have the following three things:
1. The North Dakota Education Association building
2. A sign in the window of an office of the NDEA building which says we need universal health care now.
3. A “Do Not Enter” sign.

My nephews, with horses.

July 29, 2009

Evidently my nephews had some recent rodeo action and my sister shared the photos with the family.
I love this photo; the horse has a peculiar expression.
There are a few other photos that caught my eye; one has a nephew roping a steer with what looks like would make tough, tough steaks. Another has one [...]

The difficulty with signage, Part 2.

May 27, 2009

Well, first there was this post, discussing signs.
This past weekend I was able to spend a lot of time with a friend and his parents, and one of the things we did was go to Ft. Abraham Lincoln State Park. This site features some reconstructed fort buildings, the Custer house, and a replica of a [...]
