Artist trading cards revisited.

My friend was right on the ball, quick to react, when I mentioned in an email I was interested in artist trading cards: she sent four right out of the gate.

Now, about a decade later (or, at least three months), I finally got around to completing the trade by sending back four cards of my own.

I'm not sure it's what she had in mind...they're a little cartoon-y compared to the lovely small prints she had sent. However, these characters popped into my mind a while back and I haven't quite worked them out yet. If that ever happens.

These cards are hand-inked onto cardstock, with watercolor and colored pencil details added.

You can see more of them in action in the cartoon series How to Quit. You can read more about the concept of artist trading cards in this earlier post.

Well, dear artist, it is not what the recipient has in mind but what the artist sending the cards has in mind or wants to express, so you could never disappoint!
