What is the absolute last possible date before it is too late to
get my family history into the book?
First we said November. Then December 31. Now we are saying
January 20th. We mean it this time. If we don't get it then...you
and your family will not be mentioned in the book. Find more
information on the book here.

When will the history book be available?
The book is scheduled to be printed and ready shortly before
the actual celebration in June of 2004.

Will there be history books available to buy, or is it through
preordering only?
We will have some extra books to sell during the celebration,
and afterwards if there are any left. However, you should preorder
to make certain you get a copy. We will be ordering only a limited
amount of extra copies and once they are gone, they will not be
available again. Ever.

4. How
much will the history book cost?
That's undetermined yet. Think around $50, give or take a bit
on either side. Until we know the exact number of pages the book
will end up being, we won't know. It will not be as thick as some
history books from area towns, but it will be full-color with
glossy thick pages. The cost will be similar to the cost of the
larger books from other area towns because of the color and paper
quality.

Where can we stay while visiting the area for the Centennial and
Reunion?
There are a number of options, including a few right in the
immediate area. I would recommend visiting Munich's
excellent listing of area lodging.

Is this website going to still be online after the Centennial?
Actually...yes. I (Julie Neidlinger) had a site online for
Hampden since 1998. It has grown a lot since then, and I
incorporated the Centennial into its redesign. After the
Centennial, I intend to pay for it and keep it online as I have
been, using it as a way to build a continuing collection of
history for the area as well as a way for people with connections
to Hampden to keep in touch and reminisce. The site has actually
been linked to by a number of prominent online genealogy sites as
a good source for research information. An example is here,
on Cyndi's List, a site renowned worldwide for its link
collections for research. So it will stay online, and I will still
appreciate any further stories, histories, photos and corrections
even after the Centennial is done.
