BuildASign.com approached me several months ago with the opportunity to get free bumper stickers if I put a link to their site. I normally don’t farm out links to sites on requests like that, but I was swayed by the phrase “free bumper sticker” so I agreed. They sent the bumper stickers, and I added them to my blogroll under “vinyl banners” (which may or may not be an attempt at Google bombing).
Using their nifty templates, I created the square bumper sticker you see here, which reminds you of the importance of hiring only licensed professionals. I learned of this importance upon overhearing a wedding consultation at the shop in which a fussy bride inquired, after querying if we used distilled water in all our baking, whether or not we were licensed to make wedding cakes.
Apparently a license to run a food establishment as recognized by the state of North Dakota is not enough.
This led me to realize my deficiency as an artist and the lack of proper credentials. I decided to license myself by merely putting out these bumper stickers made via template. That should be good enough proof of my extraordinary qualifications.
Let me know if you’d like one. Send me your mailing address and I’ll shoot one your way.

I have received my bumper sticker (and me without a car here in Manhattan) and it is terrific. Your message is “I have no doubt this is exactly what you were wanting.”
You’re right. Perhaps this can be an excuse to buy a car…nah. Who can afford the parking to say nothing of the insurance?
But I could take it down to Union Square and make all of the unlicensed artists down there very anxious. In NYC, everyone wants and needs credentials of some sort.
Thank you very much. Plus I really liked the stamp: no ‘Forever’ ones for you. Instead I get Bill Mauldin of Willie and Joe fame.
I confess, I used the Forever stamp on some envelopes. I’m saving up my two-cent stamps for a little Postmaster revenge.
The concept of a Forever stamp, from the USPS, has always been humorous to me. If there was ever an agency or group that I wouldn’t attach the word “forever” to, it would be that one.
Bad tenured teachers, maybe, but not the USPS.
Free bumper sticker?? Okay!

“For years you’ve been wondering. Now you know.”
Well … thanks, I guess.
What a strange experience. Opening mail addressed to me in the sender’s own hand. Just like in the olden days, when we believed there were actual people out there.
Thanks, you did brighten my day a bit.
I would love one! I am a rogue unlicensed artist! I just saw your work at Patisserie on Fourth and loved it! I just finished blogging about it! I’m emailing my address to you!
Hi Tammy. Just email me your info, and I’ll send you a bumper sticker!
