Well, first there was this post, discussing signs.
This past weekend I was able to spend a lot of time with a friend and his parents, and one of the things we did was go to Ft. Abraham Lincoln State Park. This site features some reconstructed fort buildings, the Custer house, and a replica of a Mandan village that had existed there. It was a really nice afternoon and I enjoyed the visit.
This sign, however, had to be blogged. It’s posted right after the guided tour crosses a ravine on a bridge, and I confess I didn’t see it at first.
“Did you see that sign back there?” my friend whispered to me. He told me what it said, and I was a bit aghast. I had to take a photo.
Do not use the lodges as restrooms? Seriously?
Good grief.
This is one of those moments where you realize how people are obviously idiots. It’s akin to reading the warnings on products and realizing that the only reason such stupidity has to even be warned against is because someone did it.
Evidently someone visited this historic site and decided to take a dump in one of the replica earth lodges, and so now we have this rather embarrassing sign greeting every guided tour.
