When adults take over Halloween.

by Julie R. Neidlinger on October 30, 2007 · 16 comments

in cartoons, my life, work

cartoon_halloweenThis is today.

As mentioned previously.

This is as close as you’ll get to a “photo” of me dressed up as a big, stupid foam red M&M.

Me, as a piece of food.

Me, unmeltable in your hands. (Touch me and die!)

Me, desperately trying to maintain a veneer of professionalism as I take my break and walk down the street to the coffee shop for a hot chocolate dressed as a BIG STUPID PIECE OF RED FOOD.

Why? Why?

Why?

I blame Martin Luther.

Because someone has to be blamed for this travesty.

A girl wore a foam M&M thing, and I got myself into trouble by telling her that I didn't know she was wearing a costume.

She was rather hefty.

I was young and stupid back then.

(Was 38 years old).

At least you're in color. That's something.

Did you make your own scarlet lett… I mean, costume?

I imagine getting through doors might be a bit difficult.

Happily we are not required to dress up. Or if we are, I somehow missed that memo. Darn. Hope your day is good. And goes quickly. :)

You people mock my pain.

I really do wish I could see a photo. Should I mention to Mom to get one? When did you last wear this costume?

7 Julie R. Neidlinger October 31, 2007 at 5:55 am

No. Photos.

I don't think I've ever worn it. I think someone gave it to me because I like M&M's and their logic was: "She'll like this costume, too!"

just don't do it. That's what i do.

I love the cartoon–made me laugh! I hope you have a wonderful day, M&M costume and all! Happy Halloween!

So far, we have, here at work:

witch
skeleton
devil in pajamas
grim reaper
Gene Simmons if full KISS makeup*
grumpy M&M

*Funny conversation to go with this one. Dennis was telling me this costume is from 10 years ago. He made it, and it is very elaborate.

"You're lucky I'm wearing a shirt under it," he said.

"I agree."

"Back then, I used shoe polish to make my chest hair black and–"

"Stop. Please. I don't want to know."

Would that be a peanut or plain M&M ?

12 Julie R. Neidlinger October 31, 2007 at 5:15 pm

That's quite a personal question, Robbie.

Ha.

Ooooops! Sorry! hehehe

Julie:
You are probably the only person I know that could write about M&M's and Martin Luther in the same blog.

Thanks for the laugh.

Has anyone else noticed the shrinking of Halloween candy? "Fun size" gets smaller every year. Not just shorter. Narrower.

You don't need an M.B.A. to figure that out.

"Fun size" indeed. To me "fun size" would be a footlong Kit Kat. Now that's fun.
